Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Compliance and Risk Management Strategist to join our Executive Leadership Team. As a key member of the team, you will lead from the front, designing and implementing forward-thinking strategies, influencing key decisions, and collaborating with diverse teams to embed a culture of compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee enterprise-wide compliance programs, ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Lead the management of our risk management framework, aligned with Mi Q's strategic objectives and risk appetite.
  • Lead, develop, and coach our Paraplanning team.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure robust audit practices.
  • Provide strategic oversight on compliance and risk-related matters, offering insights to the CEO and board to inform critical decisions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Financial Advisers, Client Services, business partners, and external regulators, to embed a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the business.
Requirements
  • A growth mindset, with the ability to approach challenges with curiosity, embrace change, and proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience leading compliance, risk, and audit frameworks in financial services.
  • A proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, driving cultural change, and fostering collaboration.
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., ASIC standards), compliance programs, and audit processes.
  • The ability to assess risks and implement solutions to safeguard business operations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the board, regulators, and auditors.
