Role Overview

As a Developmental Educator at Everyday Independence, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. You will work collaboratively with participants, their families, and support teams to develop personalized support plans, promote independence, and facilitate social participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify participants' needs and goals
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans to promote independence and social participation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless support and services
  • Provide person-centered support and advocacy to participants and their families
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and evidence-based approaches in disability support
Requirements
  • Hold a Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability or a related field
  • Be eligible for membership with the Disability Educators Association of Australia (DEAI)
  • Have a strong understanding of the social model of disability and its application in practice
  • Be able to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with participants, families, and colleagues
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
