Operations Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Catering and Events division. This role offers a full-time position with a Monday to Friday work schedule.

This is a strategic leadership opportunity that blends operational delivery with business growth. You will be responsible for driving client satisfaction, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring seamless event execution.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Drive client growth and retention through new business development and nurturing long-term relationships.
  • Oversee end-to-end catering and event delivery, ensuring exceptional client and guest experiences.
  • Lead and motivate the Events and Catering team, kitchen staff, and supply partners to achieve excellence.
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies, sales initiatives, and marketing activations in partnership with Directors.
  • Build and manage strong stakeholder relationships with corporate clients.
  • Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), budgets, and profitability targets.
  • Operational accountability includes rostering, training, compliance, procurement, and event equipment logistics.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of management experience in hospitality, catering, or corporate events.
  • Proven success in business development and achieving sales/growth targets.
  • Strong operational leadership with experience managing teams, suppliers, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Commercial acumen in budgeting, reporting, and financial decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills — able to confidently engage clients, negotiate with suppliers, and lead staff.
  • RSA and Food Handling Certificates.
Bonus Points:
  • Qualifications in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field.
  • Knowledge of the Sydney corporate catering and events landscape.
