The Food Safety Champion plays a crucial role in ensuring high hygiene standards are met by promoting, guiding, and enhancing the Health & Safety (H&S) and food safety culture across our Ballarat site.

The position involves managing and developing the Sanitation Team while collaborating with other departments to ensure legislative requirements are fulfilled, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are upheld, and customer expectations are exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Investigation and Corrective Action Requirements
  • Identifying root causes of micro issues related to sanitation and improving Environmental Monitoring results to reduce sanitation deviations
  • Ensuring comprehensive sanitation and hygiene training for team members so they can safely, competently, and confidently perform cleaning and sanitation activities across the site
  • Designing and implementing a Master Sanitation Schedule that meets the plant's needs while adhering to customer and McCain food safety standards
  • Planning and executing all Sanitation and cleaning activities on the Sanitation and Maintenance Day
  • Conducting compliance audits and inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation
  • Ensuring hygiene validation and verification activities are documented and adhere to cleaning schedules

About You:

  • Experience leading hygiene teams, focusing on coaching, development, and recognition
  • Broad cross-functional knowledge, including operations, quality assurance, technical aspects, and engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive insights
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous and complex situations effectively
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • Understanding and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Proficiency in implementing change management strategies and principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well and influence others effectively

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive salary package that reflects your skills and qualifications.
