Chef - Food Safety and Compliance Specialist

To support the Catering team, ensuring that they comply with food safety legislation as outlined in the John Lewis Partnership's food policy.
- Ensure department-specific KPI targets are achieved and service level agreements are adhered to.
- Oversee the opening, closing, and daily running of the Catering operation.
- Prepare, serve, and present food to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Working in small to large kitchens, preparing hot and cold foods, and pastry items while maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
Operating, cleaning, and maintaining equipment within the department, with an excellent knowledge of John Lewis Partnership's food safety standards.
Applying the partnership's food safety policies and procedures, including all relevant legislation for the Catering operation.
Essential Skills:
- Operational experience as a Chef in PDRs, canteens, or hospitality.
- Good basic education.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2).
- Recognised Food Production Certificate (City & Guilds 706 1 & 2 or equivalent).
