
Recreational Activities Coordinator

We are seeking a professional to join our team as a Recreational Activities Coordinator. As a key member of the care facility, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social and recreational activities to enhance the quality of life for residents.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in diversional therapy to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. You will have the chance to explore resident interests, develop their skills, and motivate them to participate in individual and group activities.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including basic computer literacy. A Diploma of Leisure and Health or equivalent qualification is highly regarded. Additionally, experience in diversional therapy, preferably with overall responsibility for a service diversional therapy program, is desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement social and recreational activities to improve and maintain the quality of life of residents.
- Explore resident's interests and develop their skills to improve lifestyle choices and motivate them to participate in individual and group activities.
- Assess and record resident's responses and progress on a regular basis.
- Observe and record the effectiveness of programs and adjust to any developing needs.
- Transport residents on outings and attend to personal care needs as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma of Leisure and Health or Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent.
- Experience in diversional therapy preferably with overall responsibility for a service diversional therapy program.
- Understanding of resident-centred, residential-based care services delivery.
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including basic computer skills.
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain.
- Basic experience with technology, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.
- Confidence to satisfy relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies.
