Recreational Activities Coordinator

Job Description:

A Recreational Activities Coordinator will create and implement social and leisure activities to enhance the quality of life for residents in care facilities. They will identify resident interests and develop skills to improve lifestyle choices and motivate participation in individual and group activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement programs to boost resident well-being
  • Evaluate and record resident responses and progress regularly
  • Monitor program effectiveness by tracking resident ongoing progress and adjusting programs as needed
  • Transport residents on outings as requested, utilizing designated vehicles
  • Attend to resident/personal care needs as required

Requirements:

  • Diploma of Leisure and Health or Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in diversional therapy with overall responsibility for a service diversional therapy program
  • Understanding of resident-centered, residential-based care services delivery
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including basic computer literacy
  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain clearance
  • Basic experience with technology, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.
  • Confidence to satisfy relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
