About the Position

The ANU College of Science and Medicine is a hub for world-class research and education, spanning disciplines such as Medicine, Psychology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Sciences, and Astronomy.

Within this esteemed institution, the Academic Unit of General Practice (AUGP) focuses on advancing general practice and primary health care through innovative teaching and impactful research.

We are seeking an accomplished professional to contribute across three key areas of academic activity: research, education, and service. The successful candidate will be based at the Canberra Hospital Campus and report to the Professor of General Practice, Director of AUGP.

  • In this position, you will play an integral role in the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) program, delivering teaching in general practice, clinical skills, population health, rural and Indigenous health, and evidence-based medicine.
  • You will also contribute to student assessments, including clinical skills and general practice examinations.

Beyond education, you will develop and pursue an independent research agenda that articulates and measures the value of primary health care within the Australian system, while engaging in collaborative research locally, nationally, and internationally.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A doctoral degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to design and implement innovative research projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external partners
Benefits

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) continuing appointment, offering a salary package of $118,632 - $134,507 per annum (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation.
