Facilities Maintenance Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Adult Sweeper. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital part in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain assigned school facilities, including classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, pools, grounds, desks, lunchroom, locker rooms, etc.
  • Arrange furniture and equipment for meetings, classroom activities, and special events.
  • Assist in securing facilities and grounds to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability to the organization.
  • Perform various custodial functions as required to assist in maintaining the facility in a safe, attractive environment.
  • Report incidents of vandalism, damages, and/or issues needing action for prompt corrective action.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Job-related experience desired.
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Required.

Working Environment:

The job requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard-free environment.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Skills: adhere to safety practices, operate equipment used in custodial work.
  • Knowledge: basic math, written procedures, routine documents, clear speech, multi-step written and oral instructions.
  • Abilities: schedule activities, collate data, use job-related equipment, work with others, work with data, operate equipment.
