Job Overview
\This role is a term time, permanent position completing 30 hours per week. The School Officer – Assisting Student Learning (ASL) works under the direction and supervision of a teacher to provide learning and classroom support to all students including those who have identified additional needs.
\Key Responsibilities

- Provide individualized support to students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to participate in learning and school activities.\
- Assist students with specific learning needs including scribing, reading, and providing feedback and observations to the classroom teacher(s).\
- Support student engagement by reinforcing appropriate student behavior.\
- Perform administrative tasks such as record maintenance and producing resources.\
- Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy classroom environment.\
- Provide routine support to students in relation to their physical needs and personal care.\
- Meet mandatory criteria which include holding a current Working with Children Suitability Card, having a valid driver's license, being able to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville, and being able to perform the physical requirements of the role.\
- Preferred qualifications include a Cert III in School Based Education Support or equivalent.\
