The Role

  • Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on machinery, equipment, and production lines to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and production interruptions, ensuring the smooth operation of the production process.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to reduce equipment failures and extend their lifespan, thereby reducing maintenance costs and improving overall productivity.
  • Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment, ensuring they are properly integrated into existing systems and meet the company's quality and safety standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance work adheres to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and parts inventory, to facilitate effective maintenance planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance and operational needs, participating in team meetings and projects to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest upgrades or modifications to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or agricultural setting.
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques for industrial machinery.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and protocols, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve common goals.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies, with a commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of the production process.
