About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Irrigation Leading Hand to join our team at ofi, a leading global integrated supply chain manager, processor, and grower of agricultural products and food ingredients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting sustainable tree growth and production of the Almond Orchard, working closely with the Irrigation Controller to implement irrigation programs suitable to the farm.

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of drip irrigation systems, system design, and function, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in training Orchard Technicians in irrigation and maintenance program requirements.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of water and fertilizer to the orchards.
  • Monitor and manage the efficient and timely delivery of water and fertilizer to the orchards.
  • Maintain irrigation equipment and ensure servicing and repairs of the irrigation system are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report wet areas and undertake corrective measures.
Requirements
  • A strong team attitude and excellent communication skills.
  • A strong safety mindset and track record.
  • Be hardworking and eager to learn new skills.
  • Previous experience working on a farm, preferably with knowledge of drip irrigation systems, system design, and function.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys 'hands-on', fast-paced work, has the ability to think on their feet, troubleshoot, and lead a team.
