Environmental Field Officer

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Environmental Field Officer to join our team in the Sunshine Coast and Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley & Ipswich regional areas.

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic team environment to achieve project goals through conducting fieldwork in rough terrain, maintaining hand tools and equipment, and reporting on task delivery and progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about environmental conservation and eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fieldwork in various locations across southeast Queensland to achieve project goals;
  • Maintain and repair hand tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance;
  • Prepare and submit reports on task delivery and progress to support project planning and evaluation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year experience in an environmental or agricultural field-based role;
  • Physical fitness and self-motivation to work in challenging outdoor environments;
  • Ability to take direction and work independently to meet project objectives.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Current Certificate I or III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (equivalent certification considered);
  • Sound knowledge of weeds and weed control methods;
  • Licenses and tickets: Chainsaw Level 1, ACDC, Construction White Card, Driver's license.
