This is a hands-on senior consulting role ideal for someone who thrives on technical delivery, enjoys mentoring, and enjoys working in a team.
You'll lead contaminated land investigations from start to finish, including planning field programs, interpreting results, writing high-quality reports, and managing client and supplier interactions.
You'll work across a variety of sectors including infrastructure, transport, urban development, and aviation.
As part of a small team, you'll have direct influence over project outcomes and the flexibility to shape how you workKey Responsibilities:Utilising your previous experience and technical background to deliver high quality work in the areas of contaminated land assessment and management.Managing assigned projects to ensure they meet defined project objectives (i.e. meet client and regulatory requirements, timeframes, budget etc.) and regularly communicating with stakeholders.Managing and analysing data, reporting and presenting findings to clients.Contributing to securing new work by identifying, creating and converting opportunities through proactive client relationship management.Mentoring, training and inspiring junior staff.to become part of our great team you will:Be a specialist in the field of Contaminated Land and working towards qualification as a Contaminated Land Suitably Qualified Person in accordance with Sections 564 to 566 of the Queensland Environmental Protection Act 1994 and Section 7 of the Queensland Auditor Handbook for Contaminated Land Module 5: Auditor's functions.Be a Certified Env Practitioner (CEnvP) or Certified Professional Soil Scientist (CPSS) or can be certified within 12 months of employment.Have Project Management experience in a consulting environment.Can prepare Contaminated Land Investigation reports with minimal input.Sound understanding of statistical approaches for contaminated land assessments.Basic understanding of Geographic Information System programs such as QGIS, ArcGIS or similar.Can undertake site inspections/field work.Experience in managing field staff for both water and soil assessments, and mentoring junior staff members.A Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in either Environmental Science, Geology, Soil Science or Geochemistry.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to build relationships at all levels, and with clientsA current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to remote locations if occasionally required.Highly Regarded:Proven experience in contaminated land remediation is desirableExperience working on Queensland Rail projectsLandfill gas experience or hydrogeology experienceExperience in assessment of natural soils and/or Acid Sulfate SoilsWhat we offer:Flexible work arrangements and a positive, inclusive cultureStrong focus on professional development and mentorshipClose-knit, supportive teamGreat office location in Milton (close to public transport)A place where your voice is heard and your impact is realOther incentives - PSK 'FUN DAY', quarterly group lunches,
