Restaurant Chef Position

We are seeking an experienced chef to work in a high-end restaurant environment.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating innovative and delicious dishes using local produce.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training
  • Or AQF Certificate IV
  • Or at least three years of relevant experience, which may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Preparing, creating, and decorating food items
  • Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality
  • Planning, developing, and estimating food costs when ordering supplies
  • Monitoring the quality of dishes
  • Preparing and cooking food using various techniques
  • Seasoning food during cooking
  • Portioning food
  • Maintaining kitchen hygiene and enforcing safety regulations
  • Enthusiasm and creativity in providing high-quality cuisine
  • Understanding of Australian food safety standards and HACCP
  • Monitoring and ensuring quality throughout all stages of food preparation and organization
