Job Overview

Molecular Biologist - Protein Production Specialist

The Biologics Platform is a research hub focused on advancing therapeutic proteins, including antibodies and engineered cytokines. This position supports discovery and development efforts by executing molecular biology and protein production workflows.

  • Conduct experiments in protein expression, purification, and analytical characterisation using HEK293, CHO, and E coli systems.
  • Apply molecular cloning techniques to design and clone recombinant DNA constructs.
  • Perform protein purification via FPLC chromatography and analytical techniques like SDS-PAGE and Western blotting.
  • Maintain detailed laboratory records and contribute to internal reporting and data presentations.

Requirements

This role requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field with Honours.
  • Minimum 2 years' laboratory experience in molecular biology or protein biochemistry.
  • Hands-on experience in recombinant protein expression in mammalian and bacterial systems.
  • Practical knowledge of protein purification techniques and FPLC/ÄKTA equipment.
