About the Role
The Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological assessment and therapeutic services to clients presenting with a range of mental health issues, including domestic violence, alcohol and substance misuse, and trauma.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify client needs and develop effective treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and community members to promote cultural sensitivity and understanding
- Participate in regular team meetings and professional development activities to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments
Requirements
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology or a related field
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and individuals
- Strong understanding of cultural safety and trauma-informed care principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
