Residential Technical Specialist

The role of the Senior Residential Technical Officer or Senior Residential Engineer is to oversee the delivery of high-quality solutions in the residential housing market. This includes single-storey, double-storey, transportable, and pole-frame designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Producing and reviewing designs such as site plans, drainage plans, and related documentation.
- Reviewing engineering reports and documentation to ensure quality control and support skill development.
- Managing client interactions, including setting agendas, capturing minutes, and monitoring feedback.
- Attending site meetings with stakeholders like builders, homeowners, and contractors.
- Maintaining proactive communication with all stakeholders, including engineers, staff, builders, contractors, and councils.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of experience in volume housing.
- Experience in designing residential/low-rise structures.
- Experience with timber, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and related designs.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit, Inducta (advantageous), RAPT (advantageous).
- Ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Australian standards and building codes, including AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, NCC.
