Senior Financial Professional

Job Role:

The Senior Project Accountant will support a major infrastructure project in Melbourne, contributing to the MRPV initiative. They will collaborate closely with the Commercial team and wider project team to provide management and cost accounting and ensure the integrity of the project accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply a suitable cost coding structure for all costs incurred ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Manage the accrual process and prepare journals for project accruals and adjustments
  • Ensure timely submission and assist in preparation of progress claims and tax invoices to clients
  • Provide detailed, accurate and relevant reporting and commentary by specified deadlines on forecasts, budgets and cash flow to the project team and corporate finance team
  • Ensure robust financial reporting across the project delivery team
  • Manage the Project Bank Account in accordance with MRPV requirements
  • Provide finance support to the project management team
  • Meet month-end deadlines
  • Review current processes for management account preparation and recommend improvements across the business
  • Ensure accounting integrity of the project accounts and general ledger
Requirements:
  • Qualification in an accounting related discipline
  • 6+ years post-graduate experience
  • CPA/CA qualification is highly regarded
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is highly valued
  • Experience with Victorian government infrastructure projects is preferred
