The Role: Senior Urbanist - Social Strategy & Engagement

We're seeking an experienced Senior Urbanist-Social Strategy & Engagement to join our engaged team of urban development professionals. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual looking to take the next step in their professional career and someone passionate about social impact and urban change.

  • Collaborate across various projects, including multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead deliverables such as social impact assessments, social infrastructure studies, social research and measurement, community and stakeholder engagement strategies, and local and state government strategies.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions.
  • Manage project delivery to meet budget and timeframe expectations.
  • Develop project management, delegation, and supervision skills through managing junior staff members.
  • Share knowledge and collaborative work experiences to develop others within the team.
  • Build on existing stakeholder relationships and networks to achieve positive results for clients and generate new business.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Urbanist-Social Strategy & Engagement with:

  • A Tertiary qualification in Planning/Urbanism/Human Geography/Sustainability/Communications or related degree/discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience within a professional services firm or state/local government.
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with a flexible and positive attitude to working on different projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of the NSW planning framework and/or social policy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build rapport with clients and other project team members.
  • Excellent writing skills, who can draft efficiently, write accurate and comprehensive reports, and prepare external correspondence.
  • A professional commitment to striving for excellence.
  • An understanding of good engagement practices.
