  The Role:
  As Government Communications Strategist, you will be responsible for developing strategic communications programs, pitching behaviour change campaign materials, and building relationships with key stakeholders. You will help create and execute PR strategies for government campaigns, including public service announcements and behaviour change communications. Your expertise in earned media and strategic communications will enable you to craft compelling narratives that communicate government initiatives in a clear and compelling way.
  Key Responsibilities:
  
  • Support the team to manage PR campaigns for government clients, providing strategic counsel on public policy messaging, media relations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop communication strategies that align with government priorities, building public understanding and support for key initiatives.
  • Crafting press releases, media pitches, speeches, reports, and other content tailored to government narratives.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with media outlets, government officials, and public sector stakeholders.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to support business development and expand our portfolio of government clients.

  Your Background:
  You are a seasoned PR professional with experience in government PR, public affairs, or working with public sector clients. Your expertise in earned media and strategic communications, combined with your ability to develop genuine connections with media, government representatives, and key stakeholders, makes you an ideal candidate for this role. Your proactive and strategic thinking enables you to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and navigate the intricacies of government communications.
  About the Opportunity:
  This is a full-time permanent position based in Sydney. The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
