Job Title: Mobile Plant Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an apprentice mobile plant mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to learn the skills and knowledge needed to work on heavy mobile plant and quarrying machinery.

Job Description:
  • This is a hands-on trade that involves working in both workshop and quarry sites, learning how to service, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy mobile plant and quarrying machinery, including crushers, loaders, haul trucks, skid steers, conveyors, and fixed plant equipment.

The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in quarry machines, performing preventative servicing and inspections to minimize downtime, and ensuring safe work practices in a quarry environment.

Requirements:
  • Completed Year 10 or higher
  • Driver's licence
  • Willingness to work in tough environments (dust, noise, heavy lifting)
  • Reliability, resilience, and pride in doing the job right
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated
