Apprentice Mobile Plant Mechanic Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Apprentice Mobile Plant Mechanic in a quarry environment. You will be involved in hands-on experience and study towards a Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.

The role combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, allowing you to develop expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults in quarry machines, maintaining hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and performing preventative servicing and inspections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and Repair Mechanical Faults: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues in quarry equipment.
  • Maintenance of Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Electrical Systems: Ensure the smooth operation of machinery by maintaining its components.
  • Preventative Servicing and Inspections: Conduct regular checks to prevent downtime and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Welding, Fabrication, and Field Breakdown Repairs: Develop skills in welding, fabrication, and repair techniques for on-site maintenance.
  • Safe Work Practices: Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in a quarry environment.
