Senior Contracts Administrator Role

This is a key position within our organization, responsible for overseeing the commercial management and administration of contracts.

The successful candidate will have experience in contract administration and commercial management, with a strong understanding of standard forms of construction contracts and mechanisms. They will also possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with high-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Commercial representative for commercial and compliance management of major client agreements and compliant contract administration upstream and downstream.
  • Manage, co-ordinate and perform contract administration responsibilities for Telstra SFMDCC Project contract packages.
  • Lead and administer Risk & Opportunity process within contracts to create 'no surprises' 'continuous improvement' culture leveraging commercial opportunities from pre-tender through to demobilisation.
  • Support delivery of financial and contractual information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide project health checks and advise Project leaders of any potential risks and or opportunities to project targets including associated mitigation measures including identification and implementation of actions to prevent Non conformance activities in process and systems.
  • Support Commercial Manager in upstream commercial management activities including head contract compliance governance forums variations contractual notices timely preparation and response.
  • Preparation of reports document management and maintenance of registers.
  • Manage end to end downstream procurement function including analysis of procurement options tender document drafting scope preparation tender prequalification selection negotiation rates and contract terms and award.
  • Maintain legal and commercially compliant supply chain including contract extensions insurances issuing of notices variations securities management including retention management Lead in strategic resolution of contractual disputes and notices.
  • Preparation of data reports models and analysis to inform business decision making.

This role can be based out of Melbourne Sydney Brisbane or Perth.

About You
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Law Engineering Construction Law Construction/ Commercial Management Quantity Surveying Business Management Finance or equivalent.
  • Experience in area of contract administration/ commercial management / Quantity Surveying on projects/contracts.
  • Experience in telecommunications or electrical environment is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge ability to read and apply standard forms of subcontracts and mechanisms.
  • Working knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts and mechanisms contract law flow throughs ability to negotiate terms within provided parameters and manage associated risks.
  • Proven experience with engagement of high-level stakeholders internal and external.
  • Commercial acumen subcontract management tendering legal claims administration modelling KPIs profit improvement.
