Chief Compliance Officer

A leading Australian energy retailer seeks an experienced Chief Compliance Officer to work closely with the compliance team in developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

This role involves assessing compliance issues against regulatory obligations, providing business compliance gap analysis, and recommending and delivering compliance improvement projects to enhance quality assurance and compliance processes.

About This Role:
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop and implement compliance strategies that align with the company's overall goals.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs to ensure internal and external stakeholders understand their compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring the company remains up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of compliance issues, including investigation reports.
  • Provide regular compliance reporting to senior management on compliance performance and areas for improvement.
Key Requirements:
  • Demonstrated expertise in risk and compliance management, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address compliance gaps.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the development of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
