Disability Support Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced disability support nurse to provide quality clinical services to individuals with a range of functional abilities and complex needs.

Purpose of the Disability Support Nurse Role
  • To develop comprehensive health care plans for people with disabilities and provide nursing care to meet their individual needs.
  • Coordinate clinical supports within resources, policies, and guidelines to ensure effective day-to-day administrative processes.
  • Build relationships with local community partnerships, including families and carers, and other stakeholders to promote commitment to employment equity and diversity, workplace health and safety, risk management, and ethical practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing comprehensive health care plans that take into account the unique needs and abilities of each individual.
  • Providing high-quality nursing care to individuals with complex needs, including those requiring urinary catheter, PEG, and bowel care.
  • Coordinating clinical supports to ensure seamless delivery of services and achieving desired outcomes.
  • Building strong relationships with community partners to foster a culture of inclusivity and respect.
  • Maintaining accurate records and providing regular feedback to service managers on service provision.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent, holding a current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current NDIS and WWCC certificates
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals, families, and communities.
  • Experience working with adults and/or children with complex disabilities and a willingness to learn about Indigenous cultures and perspectives.
