About the Job

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the engineering and maintenance function, including planning, execution, and delivery of projects.

You will work closely with the plant management team to deliver innovative, efficient, and high-quality solutions to ensure the efficient operation of the plants. Your expertise will be invaluable in establishing planned maintenance activities to ensure effective running of the plant and overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the engineering and maintenance function across the manufacturing site.
  • Deliver plant optimisation to allow for efficient productivity of the plant.
  • Establish planned maintenance activities to ensure effective running of the plant.
  • Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Drive process optimisation, technical innovation, and the implementation of advanced technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
  • Manage the capex budget, allocating resources effectively to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee the engineering and maintenance teams, including maintenance contractors, to ensure safe and productive outputs.
  • Develop the maintenance/asset care strategy.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, civil or related field) highly beneficial.
  • At least 10 years' management experience within a similar role, particularly with broad experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Ability to work with a unionized workforce and a track record of fostering collaborative working relationships and building trust.
  • Excellent experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and root cause analysis.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office required and SAP an advantage.
  • Ability to mentor, develop, and coach team members as well as maintain performance and personal growth while working together as a team.
