Senior Legal Counsel Role Overview

This is a high-profile opportunity for an experienced financial markets lawyer to join our organization as a Senior Legal Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in derivatives, FICC, and/or swaps products, with experience operating at a senior level in financial markets from either an in-house, private practice or regulatory context.

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable individual who can provide commercial legal advice on structuring complex financial products, perform legal analysis of company obligations, and work on regulatory and legal matters across various areas including financial services, corporate, commercial, competition, technology, intellectual property, information security, privacy and marketing.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide commercial legal advice on structuring complex financial products;
    • Legal analysis of company obligations;
    • Work on regulatory and legal matters across a range of areas including financial services, corporate, commercial, competition, technology, intellectual property, information security, privacy and marketing;
    • Responding to regulatory queries as and when required;
    • Providing regular reports on regulatory activities and escalating material issues as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of PQE (post-qualification experience) in financial markets law, with experience covering derivatives, FICC, and/or swaps products;
  • Experience operating at a senior level in financial markets from either an in-house, private practice or regulatory context;
  • Understanding of the legal, operational, compliance and regulatory issues arising in financial markets;
  • Ability to leverage personal and professional networks to deliver results;
  • Strong integrity, disciplined work ethic and self-starter attitude.
