Senior Legal Counsel Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our client's global Investment Bank operating in the Australian market. As a trusted business advisor, you will provide commercial legal advice on structuring complex financial products and regulatory guidance.

  • Provide expert legal counsel on structuring complex financial products;
  • Analyze company obligations from a legal perspective;
  • Work across a range of areas including financial services, corporate, commercial, competition, technology, intellectual property, information security, privacy and marketing;
  • Respond to regulatory queries as needed;
  • Provide regular reports on regulatory activities and escalate material issues when required.

Suitable experience includes :

  • A minimum of 8-12 years PQE in financial markets law with expertise in Derivatives, FICC and/or Swaps products;
  • Experience working at a senior level in financial markets from either an in-house, private practice or regulatory context;
  • Understanding of the legal, operational, compliance and regulatory issues arising in financial markets;
  • Ability to interact with regulators, lawyers and market participants, leveraging professional networks;
  • Expertise in implementing corporate governance and compliance practices;
  • Strong integrity, discipline and self-motivation.
