About the Role
Caulfield Grammar School, an internationally recognised independent co-educational institution, is seeking a qualified music educator to fill a specialist role in teaching music for Years 7 and 8 at our Wheelers Hill Campus. This dynamic part-time opportunity, fixed term starting Term 3 until the end of the year, presents a unique chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging music programs that cater to individual students' needs, leveraging research-based knowledge of how students learn and integrating Formative Assessment Techniques.
- Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs, incorporating feedback from students and assessment data to inform planning and drive continuous improvement.
- Model high expectations to foster a safe and supportive classroom culture, promoting student-centered learning activities and conceptually driven lessons.
- Provide reports within school standards and timelines, embodying Caulfield Grammar School's values and behaviours.
Requirements
- Experience teaching middle years students, with a strong background in music education.
- Able to connect positively with students, demonstrating genuine care for their learning and growth.
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest educational trends and innovations.
- Familiarity with the IB philosophy and approach to teaching is advantageous, as is a working knowledge of Music Technology applications like Garageband.
- Hold a Teaching Qualification alongside exceptional knowledge and experience in music, along with current VIT Registration.
