About the Role

The Government Governance Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of governance processes at Parramatta City Council. This involves managing delegations, compliance with legislative requirements, and public access to information under GIPA and privacy legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the review and alignment of governance policies and procedures
  • Oversee the access for information applications under GIPA and lead internal reviews, analysis, and processing of applications
  • Maintain Council's relevant databases, reporting systems, registers, and information made publicly available
  • Consult and liaise with external stakeholders
  • Lead and manage the Governance Team to successfully deliver services and achieve optimal outcomes from governance activities
About You
  • Degree qualifications in business, policy, or local government discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in governance management in local government or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Government Information (Public Access) Act and other legislation relating to the provision and protection of information
  • Able to work in a politically sensitive environment
  • Proven research and analytical skills
  • Possess high interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and stakeholder management
