About the Operations Manager Role

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a public golf course. This role requires a hands-on leader with a background in hospitality, sport or leisure management.

Key responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of the golf course, retail, café and events while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment for all golfers.

  • Lead and manage daily golf course operations.
  • Supervise, train and support frontline staff to deliver excellent customer service standards.
  • Oversee stock management, cash handling, online shop and reporting.
  • Coordinate events, corporate days, social bookings and activations.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety and licensing requirements.
  • Support the delivery of company initiatives, promotions and participation programs.
  • Drive revenue growth through retail, food & beverage and participation offerings.
  • Ensure facility presentation standards are maintained at all times.
Requirements

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with:

  • Proven experience in operations, hospitality, golf or leisure facility management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of golf operations (desirable but not essential).
  • Current RSA, WWCC and First Aid & CPR qualifications.
  • Availability to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and evenings.
