Employee Relations Specialist

Take on a pivotal role in fostering positive employee relations and contributing to the success of a leading charter airline.

  • Work closely with operational teams providing advice and support on employee relations matters, ensuring a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Play a key part in advising managers on grievances, investigations, performance management, disciplinary issues, and general ER/IR compliance matters.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and disciplinary actions, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality throughout the process.
  • Provide timely and accurate advice on award and enterprise agreement interpretation, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Support the review of HR policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to develop and deliver training programs for managers on relevant HR policies, procedures, and legislative changes.

This specialist role is responsible for:

  1. Managing employee relations issues and resolving conflicts in a fair and equitable manner.
  2. Providing guidance on grievance management processes, ensuring that all parties are treated fairly and without bias.
  3. Supporting the development of HR policies and procedures, aligning them with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  4. Monitoring compliance risks regarding industrial instruments and other applicable legislation.
  5. Broadening knowledge of ER/IR regulatory framework, staying up-to-date with changes and developments in the field.
  6. Maintaining a proactive approach to advisory, seeking solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders.
  7. Working collaboratively within a team environment that values collaboration and open communication.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related area or equivalent experience.
  • Prior work experience in an Employee Relations specialist role, demonstrating a strong understanding of ER/IR principles.
  • A broad understanding of grievance management processes, including conflict resolution and negotiation techniques.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage employee relations issues and resolve conflicts in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Solid knowledge of ER/IR regulatory framework, with a focus on award and enterprise agreement interpretation.
  • A practical and commercial approach to advisory, with a focus on delivering results-oriented solutions.
  • An enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a team environment that values collaboration and open communication.
