About Us: LVI Associates is a leading consulting firm specializing in urban development and planning services.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Urban Development Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking town planning related duties on a range of projects, both on site and in the office as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake town planning tasks for projects, both in the office and on site as required.
  • Provide town planning services that are fit for purpose, practical, cost-effective, comply with relevant design and regulatory standards, and meet WHS and Quality Control requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quotations, tenders, and Bills of Quantities.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations associated with urban development and town planning.
  • Lodge development applications, construction certificates, subdivision certificates, service authority approvals, and other applications with Council and State Government agencies as required.
  • Liaise with clients and attend client meetings when required.
  • Proactively plan, manage, coordinate, track, and run assigned project tasks.
  • Manage assigned projects in terms of resourcing, budget, quality, and output to maximize time and cost outcomes for the Company and clients.
  • Plan, manage, track projects, and proactively handle project billings, invoicing, scope changes, claims, and variations.
  • Provide regular project reviews and reporting to the Planning Manager and/or Directors as required.
  • Conduct thorough self-checks and check information, drawings, and documentation undertaken by others.
  • Liaise, coordinate, and manage clients, subconsultants, and contractors.
  • Assign and check the work of technical staff assigned to a project.
  • Assist in business development.
  • Foster relationships with key clients, suppliers, regulatory bodies, and government.
  • Ensure all project activities are conducted following the company's systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide technical advice to management, staff, and clients.
  • Undertake other tasks as delegated by the Planning Manager and/or Directors.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in Planning / Town Planning or equivalent, recognized by The Planning Institute of Australia.
  • Membership or ability to obtain membership with The Planning Institute of Australia.
  • Safe Work Site Induction Training Card.
  • Class C NSW Drivers Licence.
  • At least 4+ years of previous town planning experience within a consultancy or local government, or equivalent.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Good planning and/or project management skills.
