Key Responsibilities

Our Urban Development Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing detailed urban plans that address land use, transportation, and community needs. Stay Up-to-Date with RegulationsThe successful candidate will stay updated with zoning laws, environmental regulations, and urban development best practices. This will involve attending industry events and conferences, and staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in urban development.
Formulate and Recommend PoliciesOur Urban Development Specialist will be responsible for formulating and recommending policies related to land use, transportation, and community development to guide sustainable growth. This will involve working closely with stakeholders, including government officials and community groups, to ensure that policies meet the needs of all parties involved.
Manage Complex ProjectsThe successful candidate will manage complex, large-scale planning projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet objectives, timelines, and budgets. This will involve working closely with stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and government officials, to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 Years of Experience
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience within council or a minimum of 5 years of experience within consulting and public sector across NSW landscape.
Relevant QualificationsA degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field is required. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience in overseeing large-scale urban development projects, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
Leadership and MentoringThe successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and mentoring junior planners and cross-functional teams. They will also have proficiency in planning tools and software, including GIS, CAD, and planning databases.
