Investigator Job PositionJob Description:

This role is inclusive of a short-term contract with a high-profile government department.

We are seeking an experienced Fraud Investigator based in Canberra, who holds a Certificate IV Government (Investigations) or similar qualification and has a baseline clearance.

Duties:
  • Undertake internal and external fraud and corruption investigation activities to ensure compliance under Commonwealth legislation.
  • Research, analyse, collate information, and identify risks and issues from internal and external sources to provide recommendations regarding legislative non-compliance and/or fraud identification, investigation, and evidentiary processes.
  • Support the team to improve current investigation tools/templates, conduct interviews, gather evidence, and prepare reports.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including AFP, NACC, and Commonwealth Ombudsman's office.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills, recent and relevant experience in formal fraud investigations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Adaptable to competing priorities and challenges in dynamic environments.
