Job Description

Make a lasting impact in the lives of children, adolescents and families by joining our Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) team. Lead therapeutic interventions grounded in evidence and empathy, strengthening emotional resilience while nurturing vital relationships across family, school and community.

As a collaborative clinician, you'll support agency and growth in young people, improving mental health outcomes and the support systems around them.

This is a temporary full-time position based in the Community Mental Health / CAMH team of Penrith.

Our multidisciplinary teams work in collaboration to support mental health care in a way that fits the needs of each person.

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is a public health organisation serving the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Fully registered psychologist with a Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or related area recognized by the employer.
  • Substantial postgraduate clinical experience and specialist knowledge in child and adolescent mental health, with experience in evidence-based psychotherapies.
  • Ability to conduct psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care formulation to inform tailored care planning.
  • Knowledge and skills for working with family systems to improve health outcomes for children and young people.
  • Understanding of childhood trauma, child protection and related psychosocial challenges in child and youth mental health.
