About the Role

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme offers a unique opportunity for workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia.

This program aims to provide support to enable workers to access PALM in inclusive ways that maximise benefits for workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation.

To achieve this, we are seeking a Special Projects Manager who can contribute to the success of the programme by assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the uptake of PALM by workers from these countries.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with diverse stakeholders. They will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating activities related to the PALM scheme

  • Providing technical assistance to workers and employers

  • Collaborating with government agencies and other stakeholders to promote the programme

  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the programme

Key qualifications and skills required include:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. international relations, economics, social sciences)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management or a related field

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office and other software applications
