Power Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our team at the Harry James Group. As a key member of our Technical Support team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise to our clients and supporting the commercial team in bidding preparation.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with HQ product, R&D, and modelling teams to gain a deep understanding of our clients' products and technologies.
- Support commercial team in preparing model packages for bidding purposes.
- Provide technical support to clients on modelling enquiries and troubleshoot model issues.
- Work closely with HQ team to resolve clients' issue trackers in a timely manner.
- Prepare and review technical notes and reports.
- Support commercial team in reviewing relevant documents, particularly Generator Performance Standards (GPS), R1, R2, etc.
- Participate in R2 model validation site testing and hold point test report preparation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and technical rules, including NER.
- Assist in market analyses, including customer demand and feedback, market trends, etc.
- Participate in reviewing and negotiating connection agreements.
- Support clients in meetings with regulators and market operators (AEMO) and network service providers.
- Candidates must have full working rights in Australia.
- Hold a minimum Power Electronics or Power System Engineering bachelor's degree, a master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years industry experience.
- Good understanding of technical requirements (NER Schedule S5.2 and S5.3).
- Solid knowledge of power systems, power electronics, and control principles.
- Proficiency in PSCAD, PSS/E, Python, MATLAB, and DIg SILENT/Power Factory.
- Prior experience in Power Systems Engineering is preferred.
- Prior experience working/liaising with AEMO, NSP is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Verbal and written Chinese communications skills are strongly preferred.
