Aurecon is seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Energy business, you will play a vital role in delivering innovative solutions to our clients across the energy infrastructure sector.

As a Power Systems Engineer Associate, you will be responsible for providing expert analysis and advice on power systems, including the development and implementation of power generation projects, energy storage projects, and power networks operation. You will work closely with our clients, network service providers, and AEMO to deliver high-quality solutions that meet their needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing subject matter expertise on power systems analysis and advising clients on the development and implementation of power generation projects, energy storage projects, and power networks operation.
  • Leading and executing projects, providing technical support, and mentoring a team of engineers to perform power system studies and analyze results.
  • Interfacing with external clients, network service providers, and AEMO to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team of specialists to bring innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Providing planning advice to clients on their power systems operation and development.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of electrical engineering and power systems theory, as well as experience with power system modelling software such as PSSE, PSCAD, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory. You will also need to have a sound knowledge of the National Electricity Rules and the grid connection process across the NEM.
