  • We are seeking an administrative professional to provide critical support to the Threatened Species Scientific Committee (TSSC).">
  • The role plays a vital part in helping the Committee meet its legislative responsibilities under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 and the Intergovernmental Agreement on a Common Assessment Method (2015).">

You will be responsible for preparing meeting agendas and minutes, managing Committee correspondence, coordinating budgets, maintaining records and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

">

Main Responsibilities:

">
  1. ">
  2. Managing Committee priorities and workload, including information flow to and from the Committee with the Department.">
  3. Coordinate and deliver high-level secretariat support to the TSSC, including meeting preparation, minute-taking, inter-jurisdictional liaison and follow-up actions.">
  4. Support administration of Committee budgets, track expenditures and provide financial reporting in line with government protocols.">
  5. Maintain and enhance information systems to support Committee operations.">
  6. Draft and quality-assure reports, correspondence and briefing materials for senior stakeholders and government representatives.">
  7. Facilitate communication between the Committee, government departments and interjurisdictional partners.">

About You:

You're a confident and capable administrator with a strong understanding of government processes and financial systems.

">

To succeed in this role, you will have:

">
  • ">
  • Demonstrated experience in administrative or financial support roles within government or related sectors.">
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.">
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to anticipate the needs of senior leaders and committee members.">
  • Experience preparing formal correspondence and reports, often involving confidential or sensitive information.">
  • Familiarity with biodiversity or environmental science (desirable but not essential).">

This is a temporary opportunity with a possibility of extension until 30 December 2025.

Full-time role with 35 hours per week + FlexTime.
