Join one of Australia's leading private conservation firms and help preserve the nation's cultural heritage. At O'Sullivan Conservation, we collaborate with museums, government agencies, and private collectors to conserve everything from historic buildings to sculptures, furniture, and artefacts.

We're looking for a mid to senior career Objects Conservator to join our dynamic, supportive team. You'll work both in our professional studio in Somersby on the NSW Central Coast and on-site across Sydney and regional NSW.

Why You'll Love It Here

Our Somersby studio is conveniently located just off the M1, making it an easy commute of just over an hour from Sydney CBD. Free on-street parking is readily available for staff. Alternatively, you might choose to relocate and enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of the Central Coast, with its beautiful beaches, scenic bushwalks, and welcoming community.

Working at O'Sullivan Conservation, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse and fascinating range of objects, making each day varied and engaging. We offer annual professional development opportunities, mentoring to help you build your skills and advance your career, and other training opportunities across a range of industries. We believe that great conservation work starts with a thriving, supported team.

What You'll Do

  • Hands-on conservation of a wide range of objects and materials (working independently and as part of a team)
  • Site-based work including sculptures, monuments, and built heritage
  • Condition assessments, treatment proposals, and documentation
  • Mentoring junior staff and contributing to project planning

What You'll Bring

  • 5–8+ years' experience in objects conservation
  • Strong site-based skills, especially with public art, bronze sculptures and memorials or built heritage
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Willingness to work outdoors and travel for regional projects
  • Relevant qualifications and professional memberships (e.g. AICCM, ICON)

What We Offer

  • Diverse and engaging conservation projects
  • Flexible work arrangements and professional development
  • Mobile phone and all necessary PPE
  • A respectful, inclusive team culture
