Job Overview

We are seeking a senior leader to lead our Pastoral and Spiritual Care team across Queensland hospitals and aged care homes. This is a unique opportunity to provide ethical leadership and shape the future of care.

You will be responsible for guiding the overall direction and delivery of services, ensuring that every action reflects our core values. Your work will ensure that patients, families, and staff receive high-quality pastoral and spiritual care.

This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to foster an inclusive approach to pastoral care that respects all faiths and cultures.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead a dedicated team of Pastoral and Spiritual Practitioners and guide the overall direction and delivery of services.
  2. Ensure all actions reflect the core values of our organization.
  3. Collaborate with other State Managers to create a consistent, values-based approach to care.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with local Archdiocese, clergy, and religious congregations to ensure access to sacraments for patients, staff, and families.
  5. Ensure pastoral and spiritual care is grounded in our mission and values.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in pastoral and spiritual care, preferably within a health or aged care setting.
  • A minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), with one at an Advanced level.
  • A tertiary qualification in medicine, nursing, ministry, pastoral care, theology, or social science.
  • Proven ability to foster an inclusive approach to pastoral care that respects all faiths and cultures.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
