Operations Director for Power Generation Assets

About the Role:

This position leads the operational performance of a thermal generation asset, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all production activities, overseeing up to 80 team members and coordinating with contractors.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of boilers, turbines, auxiliary systems, and coal handling infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to optimize plant availability and align production with business goals.
  • Develop and implement emergency response protocols and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, team development, and strategic planning.
Requirements:
  • Solid leadership experience in thermal power generation or large industrial operations.
  • Qualifications in engineering, science, or management—or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • A sound understanding of energy industry operations and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage cross-functional teams.
