About the Role

The Senior Financial Reporting Specialist is a newly created role to support DFES' Senior Financial Accountant in undertaking reporting obligations to Government, internal and external stakeholders.

This role actively participates in the development of DFES financial policies and procedures, providing line management responsibility to the Revenue Team and Insurance Officer, as well as providing business process improvement capability across DFES' Financial Services branch.

DFES has commenced a Finance Transformation project that will see the roll out of a modern finance system and associated process modernisation.

This role will be provided excellent opportunities to bring your best practice knowledge and skills in introducing the increased use of technology solutions to finance processes during the project and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Financial Accountant in undertaking reporting obligations to Government, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the development of DFES financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide line management responsibility to the Revenue Team and Insurance Officer.
  • Contribute to business process improvement across DFES' Financial Services branch.
  • Work on the Finance Transformation project to implement a modern finance system and associated process modernisation.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Experience in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per annum
