About the Role

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a Senior Policy and Legislation Manager to lead the development and drafting of the proposed Consolidated Emergency Services (CES) Act and subsidiary legislation.

As a key member of the team, you will plan and coordinate consultation and engagement with stakeholders to ensure proposed legislation and policy positions are supported, cost-effective, and meet desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research into complex legal issues and prepare detailed submissions, reports, and recommendations.
  • Provide instruction during the drafting of changes to legislation and outline the impact on Department procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective stakeholder engagement strategies.

Employment Conditions and Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to work or travel outside of normal business hours to assist with emergencies and may be required to undertake occasional intrastate travel to support consultation activities.
