Proposal Development Lead

The Proposal Development Lead is responsible for leading cross-functional teams to develop proposals that win. This involves bringing strategic thinking, creativity, and project management skills together to deliver high-quality, compliant bids that showcase the partner's value proposition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the entire proposal lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through to submission
  • Manage proposal kick-off meetings, set schedules, allocate resources, and track progress
  • Bring together diverse teams – Sales, Solutions, Finance, Legal, Risk, and external vendors – to deliver cohesive proposals
  • Develop commercial strategies with cost models, pricing, SLAs, and value propositions
  • Draft, edit, and refine proposal documentation to ensure clarity, persuasiveness, and compliance
  • Manage governance and approvals, identifying and mitigating risks as needed
  • Support negotiations by preparing risk assessments, contract schedules, and commercial options
  • Coach and mentor junior contributors to enhance overall proposal development capability
Requirements:
  • Substantial experience in solution sales or managing large, complex service proposals in IT&T or similar industries
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple proposals simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to distil complexity into clarity
  • Familiarity with proposal management tools and software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential; MS Project desirable)
  • Commercial acumen and creativity to design bids that balance customer needs and goals
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, bringing clarity and confidence to complex challenges
  • A reputation for building strong relationships and influencing at all levels, from technical teams to CFO/COO level
