About the Role

As a Support Officer at Blacktown City Council, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment for visitors, artists, and contractors at The Leo Kelly Blacktown Arts Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and interact with customers from diverse backgrounds and age groups in our exhibitions, Makers Space, and other programs.
  • Provide front-of-house, ticketing, reception, and administrative assistance to the team.
  • Support event setup and pack-down, as well as maintain the appearance of our multipurpose venue.
  • Contribute to safety initiatives, including fire warden or first aid officer duties (training provided).
Requirements

We are seeking casual staff who possess:

  • A minimum Certificate III in a related field.
  • Suitable experience in an arts environment or demonstrable interest/participation in the arts industry.
  • High-level oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • A commitment to customer service and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • The ability to work productively and collaboratively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
  • A valid Working with Children Check for paid work.
What We Offer

You will receive:

  • An hourly rate of $37.6026 (Grade 6, entry level) plus 25% casual loading.
  • Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts.
