Environmental Planning Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Environmental Planner to lead the environmental approvals process for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to partner with a nationally recognized developer, shaping the environmental outcomes of major developments across NSW and beyond.

The Role

As Senior Environmental Planner, you will be responsible for:

  • Mentoring junior talent and influencing strategic planning
  • Managing SSD/SSI and EPBC approvals
  • Leading EIS/DA submissions and guiding biodiversity and cultural heritage assessments
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 4+ years of experience in environmental planning, ecology, or impact assessment
  • Proven delivery of full EIS/DA submissions for large-scale projects
  • Strong grasp of BAM, EPBC, FFG Act, LEP, SEPP, and SSD/SSI pathways
  • Experience interpreting ecological data and identifying environmental risks
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Engineering, or Planning
Preferred Skills
  • Ecology fieldwork or biodiversity offsetting
  • Collaboration with state regulators (DPE, DELWP, EPA)
  • GIS mapping and biodiversity calculator tools
  • Experience in renewables or transmission infrastructure
Key Qualities
  • Strong understanding of Australian environmental regulations and policies
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Capacity to travel frequently within NSW and beyond
