Perioperative Registered Nurse Role

We seek an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse to join our team at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. The successful candidate will provide essential support to patients and Clinical Nurses in the Perioperative Services department.

The role offers great flexibility, with permanent part-time or full-time positions available. Shifts range from 6:15AM – 6:00PM and are based at our Pimlico campus.

The Perioperative Services department provides surgical services across 16 theatres, catering for adults and paediatrics with a variety of surgical specialities. Our facilities include state-of-the-art theatre equipment, catheterization laboratories, separate onsite day surgery facilities, and robotic surgery capabilities using the da Vinci Surgical System.

As a Perioperative Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures, providing optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care while acting as patient advocate.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
  • Experience working as an anaesthetics nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to operate both in a team environment and autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning and strong listening, negotiation and decision making skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Commitment to ensuring the highest levels of service delivery at all times
